The Delaware River holds a rich tapestry of history, playing a pivotal role in the development of the United States and serving as a witness to centuries of human activity. Flowing for approximately 330 miles through the eastern United States, the river originates in the Catskill Mountains of New York and eventually empties into the Delaware Bay.
Blue Raster has collaborated with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to develop the Hub de Integracion de Transporte (HIT) Platform, a groundbreaking initiative that serves as a regional infrastructure and transport hub, consolidating and presenting crucial information layers for effective planning and decision-making.
Blue Raster partnered with the Nature Conservancy’s Freshwater Community-Led Conservation Program to develop a series of StoryMaps that shed light on their work with Indigenous People and Local Communities (IPLC) around freshwater ecosystems, highlighting their efforts to propagate and enhance community-led conservation initiatives across Africa and Latin America.
Blue Raster partnered with the Biospheric Sciences Lab at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and MIT Media Lab to develop a desktop-based geospatial toolkit for calculating and reporting key indicators within Goal 15 of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Blue Raster is pleased to release the new build for the LEARN (Land Emissions and Removals Navigator) Tool. Built in partnership with Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI) and the World Resources Institute (WRI), the LEARN Tool allows for community inventorying of the effects of land use change on greenhouse gas emissions. This tool empowers policy makers, local governments, and community members to make informed decisions on environmental and climate policy.
Our team assisted WRI with some updates to make MapBuilder more user-friendly for the general public to access and use. To do so, we created a WordPress site that provides a workflow to create a configuration file and offers step-by-step tutorials.
Blue Raster developed Global Forest Watch Pro, a decision support tool that empowers companies to monitor their supply chains for responsible environmental practices.
Blue Raster is proud to have developed and supported an audit area tool for the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This solution pulls data so that auditors can examine historic and current tree cover before going on site to complete their inspections. Blue Raster recently integrated high resolution satellite imagery from Planet and Sentinel into the audit area tool.
Green Keeper Africa created a transformation path that takes harvested hyacinths and converts them into an absorptive product that can soak up oil spills.
