National Center for Education Statistics
Blue Raster partnered with the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) to design, deploy, and sustain a suite of national, public-facing geospatial tools that make U.S. education data more accessible, interactive, and actionable. Over a long-standing partnership, Blue Raster has supported NCES through application development, enterprise GIS modernization, cloud migration, and ongoing system operations, enabling researchers, policymakers, and the public to explore education and demographic data through intuitive, map-based platforms.
How We Helped
- Designed and developed interactive web mapping applications including MapED, the School District Demographics System, and the School and District Navigator to visualize education and demographic data nationwide
- Integrated NCES education statistics with U.S. Census data to support multiscale spatial analysis and trend exploration
- Built and supported the EDGE Geodata open data portal to enable discovery, visualization, and download of authoritative education datasets
- Migrated NCES ArcGIS infrastructure to AWS GovCloud, consolidating systems into a secure, scalable, and compliant cloud environment
