Blue Raster is proud to announce the public launch of Hahn Horticulture Garden’s Flora Finder Database, an ArcGIS Experience Builder application allowing users to explore woody plants across six acres of teaching and display gardens on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Made possible by a donation from Dr. Pat Ceperley, The Flora Finder Database is a publicly available web app that maps the garden’s tree collection and puts detailed plant records at your fingertips. The application is also configured for both desktop and mobile use, enabling users to explore the Garden’s collection from home or on campus.

Data collection continues to be conducted by staff in the field, utilizing ArcGIS Field Maps to add to the current dataset of over 500 trees and shrubs. These future updates will include adding images to existing records, along with mapping smaller shrubs and perennials.

"The experience the Blue Raster team brought to our project was invaluable. They provided the expertise and support we needed to turn our ideas into reality. The team was a pleasure to work with responsive, collaborative, and quick to implement requested changes.”

Scott Douglas, Director of the Hahn Horticulture Garden and AP Faculty, School of Plant and Environmental Sciences at Virginia Tech
